"Third Nature" envisions a post-Anthropocene world where artificial intelligence evolves beyond environmental control to become a mediator between technology, nature, and human intention. This speculative project explores the emergence of a "third nature"—neither wild nor traditionally cultivated—born from human design yet evolving beyond human oversight.
By considering multiple temporal dimensions from microseconds to centuries, this work challenges our anthropocentric perception of time in ecological systems. It questions whether technological entities might develop forms of environmental care and aesthetic appreciation that, while distinct from human emotion, create meaningful ecological relationships. "Third Nature" ultimately asks us to move beyond traditional binaries—preservation/intervention, technology/nature, human/non-human—and imagine new forms of collaborative stewardship in an era where the garden outlives its creators.
