In response to the housing crisis challenge brief, our practice has been through a direct, present, and real relationship with our environment. A close reading of contents, contexts, and their qualities presented a ground on which we could imagine a future, learned from the under-realized potential of the past.

In looking at the Los Angeles Stock Exchange in Downtown Los Angeles, we have been drawn to a dissonance between its past and current conditions—and have found a space of many scales, of architecture, of varying program and movement—abundant grounds that we are redistributing towards a set of values that are more considerate of its contexts and needs. 

Through and of the information we have gathered about the Stock Exchange, we are rebuilding the Stock Exchange on the adjacent lot.
